Brenntag Specialists At CPhI 2008
Between September 30 and October 2, 2008, Brenntag Pharma Europe presented itself at CPhI, the world's largest pharmaceuticals trade fair.

FRANKFURT AM MAIN Between September 30 and October 2, 2008, Brenntag Pharma Europe presented itself at CPhI, the world's largest pharmaceuticals trade fair. As in previous years, the Brenntag fair stand attracted a great many visitors. Wilhelm Gierling, Business Development Manager of Brenntag Pharma Europe: "There was a huge amount of interest in our stand. Most of our meetings with visitors were arranged in advance and we did our utmost to accommodate for all additional queries and appointments." During the trade fair, Brenntag pharmaceuticals specialists were provided with expert organizational assistance by the local Brenntag GmbH team, by Verena Mechelmann of Brenntag Specialties Europe, and by the Brenntag Corporate Communications team which was responsible for the trade fair design and graphics. Thanks to the active involvement of Brenntag employees, it was possible to avoid outsourcing any activities, thereby helping to keep costs to a minimum. Wilhelm Gierling: “This year it was evident that both customers and suppliers in the pharmaceuticals sector were confronted with rising raw material prices and a growing trend towards price capping. This leads to efforts to streamline the logistics chain and to substantially reduce the number of suppliers and sales partners. In spite of higher competitive pressure, it goes without saying that the production of safe pharmaceuticals must still be ensured. Another effect is the possible outsourcing of certain processes such as purchasing, warehousing or specific aspects of quality management. This year, there was also growing interest in raw materials from the Far East.“ For Brenntag, this trend offers good opportunities for growth, as a global distributor who has been a reliable partner to the pharmaceutical industry for years and meets the specific requirements regarding quality assurance and traceability of raw materials. AWARD TO BRENNTAG One particular highlight of the trade fair was the presentation of an award to the pharmaceuticals team of Brenntag Polska by lactose supplier DMV Fonterra Excipients. For the last three years, this award has been given to distributors who lead the field in terms of quality and know-how and who demonstrate exceptional commitment in their work.
