Brenntag Mexico purchased BASF Mexicana’s state-of-the-art storage facilities in Querétaro in mid-December 2007. The distribution center is located in the growing industrial park of Querétaro, 200 km (125 miles) north of Mexico City. The site has 14,000 square meters (150,000 square feet) warehouse space including 1,000 square meters (11,000 square feet) of temperature-controlled rooms for fine chemicals and vitamins. The site is located on a property of 77,000 square meters (19.3 acres) and has capacities to receive and park up to 80 railcars simultaneously. The new tank terminal, which was completed on 1st March 2009, has a capacity of up to 2,700 m³. A semiautomatic filling plant accepts delivery of the various liquid materials which are supplied by rail or truck, then drummed, stored and blended as required. The terminal is equipped with product-specific lines and pumps, as well as a white room to drum USP grade products such as Propylene Glycol USP or Sorbitol USP.
